Winners of Radio Quran Contest in Mauritania Awarded
TEHRAN (IQNA) – A ceremony was held in the Mauritanian capital of Nouakchott to honor the winners of a Radio Quran contest.
The competition was held by Radio Mauritania during the holy month of Ramadan.
The winners of the first to third ranks received cash prizes and other awards.
During the ceremony, producers of two of the radio’s religious programs, namely "Ramadan al-Karim” (blessed Ramadan) and "Rawza al-Siyam” (the garden of fasting) were also honored.
The Islamic Republic of Mauritania is a country in the Maghreb region of western North Africa.
The country’s population is estimated to be about 4 million and virtually all Mauritanians are Muslims.
Quranic activities and programs are very popular in the African country.
