TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Organization for African Development distributed 200 copies of the Holy Quran among the students of a Quran memorization school in Puntland, northeast of Somalia.

According to somaliatoday, the copies were gifted to the children in a ceremony attended by Abdulrazzaq Adam Sheri, the head of the organization, Yasir Sharmaki Othman, the deputy of the school and Abdulrazzaq Umar Farih, the deputy of governor in the semi-autonomous region of Puntland.

The head of the organization said in the program that the plan is Sadaqah Jariyah (continuous alms/charity) which will result in the promotion of thoughts and beliefs of the nation.

The main objective of the plan was to encourage the students to read, understand and memorize the Divine verses, he said.

A continuous charity is an action that someone does that remains active even after the person is dead.
