Course on Reading Quran Held in The Philippines
TEHRAN (IQNA) – Iran’s Cultural Center in the Philippines has organized courses for women of the region on reading the Holy Quran.
Tandis Taqawi teaches the courses, which began with the participation of 10 Filipino Muslim women.
The classes are held at the building of the center in Manila on Thursdays before the Komeil recitation ceremony.
According to the center, the Dar-ol-Quran of the Blue Mosque in Maharlika region of the city has also organized Quranic courses.
A 2012 estimate by the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) stated that there were 10.7 million Muslims, making up approximately 11 percent of the total population.
