TEHRAN (IQNA) – A Quran competition is planned to be held in Egypt to identity talents in the fields of Tajweed recitation of the Quran and Tawasheeh (religious signing).

The Arab country’s Ministry of Local Development is organizing the event at the national level, according to Sadi al-Balad website.

Al-Azhar Islamic Center will cooperate in holding the contest and Minister of Local Development Hisham Sharif will supervise it.

There will be two categories, namely recitation of the Quran in Egyptian style and Tawasheeh and Ibtihal recitation.

In each category, 15 contestants will make it to the final round and compete for the top prize in the capital Cairo.

The three top rank winners in each category will be awarded cash prizes of 10000, 7000, and 5000 Egyptian pounds.

The organizers have not announced the date of the competition yet.
