TEHRAN (IQNA) – An Algerian researcher in Quranic fields called for interaction between Quranic scholars of the Arab country and Iran.

Mazi Abdul Qadir met with Iranian cultural attaché in Algeria Abdolamir Mousavi in Algiers earlier this week.

He praised the achievements made by Iranian scholars in Quranic fields and expressed willingness to see more scholarly ties between the two countries in the field of Quranic sciences.

Abdul Qadir also underlined the need for more attention to the teachings of the Holy Quran for enhancing unity in the Muslim Ummah.

He and the Iranian cultural attaché also discussed cooperation for developing the Quranic culture.

Algeria is an Arab country in North Africa with a population of over 40 million.

Some 99 percent of the country’s people are followers of Islam.
