Sahifeh Sajjadiyeh to Be Translated into Sindhi Language
Mushtaq Masrour Barichu, a prominent writer and translator, will do the rendering in cooperation with the Iranian Culture House in India’s Hyderabad.
According to the website of the Islamic Culture and Relations (ICRO), this was announced during a meeting between Barichu and Ahmad Abdollahpour, the head of the Iranian Culture House, on Saturday.
Sahifeh Sajjadiyeh is a collection of 54 supplications of Imam Sajjad (AS), the fourth Shia Imam.
It is known as the Zabur of Al-e Muhammad (AS) and contains themes varying from theology to ethics, prayers and the status of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS).
Barichu, who has recently translated the book Nahj-ul-Balaqa into Sindhi, gifted a copy of the translation to the Iranian official.
He said there were other Sindhi renderings of Nahj-ul-Balaq before but he decided to produce a new one that is easier to read.
Sindhi is an Indo-Aryan language of the historical Sindh region, spoken by the Sindhi people. It is the official language of the Pakistani province of Sindh
In India, Sindhi is one of the scheduled languages officially recognized by the federal government.
