Habib bin Mohammed Al Riyami, Secretary-General of the Sultan Qaboos Higher Centre for Culture and Science, delivered a speech in which he referred to the role played by the Centre in organizing the Sultan Qaboos competition and the efforts of the contestants in all centers in all governorates of the Sultanate.
He pointed out that the number of contestants in the 27 the session increased from the previous sessions, where 2,156 participated this year, compared to (2012) in 2016, stressing the importance of memorizing the Holy Quran.
The closing ceremony included readings from the Holy Quran to a number of the first contestants in the levels of the competition, as well as a presentation documenting the stages of the competition since its inception and the praise of some officials of the importance of the competition and its effects on the youngsters, both on themselves and their community.
At the end of the ceremony, the Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs honored the first winners and outstanding contestants in the competition, in addition to honoring a number of parents, participants and supporting groups of the competition.
