Winners of Holy Quran Reciting Contest Honored in Qatar

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Qatar's Ministry of Education and Higher Education honored 30 students during a ceremony held Saturday at Jassim Bin Hamad Hall in Doha.

 Winners of the Holy Quran Reciting Contest Honored in Qatar

The ceremony was held to honor the winners of the Holy Quran reciting contest organized by the Ahmed bin Mohammed Secondary School for Boys. 

All schools in Qatar from different levels and various educational systems participated the competition. 

Fawzia Al Khater, Assistant Under-Secretary for Educational Affairs at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, honored the students who won the competition. She also honored the jury from the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs. 

Additionally, Al Khater honored Hassan Al Jafali Al Nuaimi, Assistant General Manager of Banking Services at Qatar Islamic Bank “Al-Masref”, the sponsor of the competition, by presenting him a commemorative shield of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.

Al Khater also honored Hassan Al Baker, Director of Ahmed Bin Mohammed Secondary School, who supervised the competition, and Mona Al Abdullah, Director of Al Falah Elementary School for Girls, which hosted the student competitions. Fawzia Al Khater expressed her happiness for honouring the students from different schools of the Ministry for memorising and reciting the Holy Quran. 

Al Khater said aims of the competition come within the frameworks of the Ministry’s objectives because one of the most important pillars of the Ministry is to deepen and consolidate religious values in the students through the curriculum and educational activities. 

This is important and has an active role in educating young people values of tolerance, moderation she added.

Al Khater stressed the importance of striving in learning the Holy Quran and memorizing which is essential to prepare a generation of young people equipping them with the sciences of religion and the sciences of the world to be able to raise their homeland and strive for its progress.

The Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry also thanked all the organizers of this competition for their preparation and organization, hoping to continue to organize such competitions in the future because of its positive impact on the students in various fields and levels of education.

Hassan Al Jafali Al Nuaimi, Assistant General Manager of Banking Services at QIB said the Bank’s sponsorship of the Holy Quran Contest which organized by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education at the Ahmed Bin Mohammed Secondary School for Boys, in which different educational levels and genders comes within the framework of the Bank’s mission and role as a leading Islamic financial institution that promotes Islamic values and encourages our students to memorize and recite the Holy Quran.

He added “The Bank’s sponsorship of the competition and its support for educational activities are part of its social responsibility and in line with the strategy adopted by the Bank closely with the social objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030”. “This sponsorship is aimed at supporting activities that promote Islamic values in order to contribute to building a promising generation, adhering to their religion, and proud of their values and their homeland”.
