According to the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), the program was aired on the occasion of the 29th anniversary of Imam Khomeini’s (RA) demise and in line with the mutual cooperation of the Iranian Cultural Center in Venezuela and the South American country’s media.
Introducing the character and thoughts of the late founder of the Islamic Republic to the people of Venezuela was the main objective of the program.
The documentary titled “Imam Khomeini” includes four half-an-hour episodes which were broadcast on June 4 and 5.
The 15th of Khordad movement which marked the starting point of the Islamic revolution in Iran and the 8-year war imposed on Iran are among the events discussed in the documentary.
It was the second time that the Venezuelan TV channel aired a program about the life and thoughts of Imam Khomeini (RA) and the Iranian Islamic Revolution.
The documentary has been produced by HispanTV which is a Spanish language news channel operated by IRIB, Iran's state-owned public broadcasting corporation. It began broadcasting in December 2011.
