Int’l Quran Contest Held in Saudi Arabia

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The 40th edition of an international competition on Quran memorization, recitation and interpretation in Saudi Arabia was organized from October 3 to 5 in the holy city of Medina.

 

 

According to nafeza2world website, 115 Quran activists from 82 countries competed in the three-day international event titled "King Abdul Aziz Quran Competition".

Memorization of the entire Quran with recitation and Tajweed principles along with observation and interpretation of Quranic terms, memorization of the entire Quran with recitation and Tajweed, memorization of 15 Juzes (parts) of Quran with recitation and Tajweed and memorization of 5 Juzes with recitation and Tajweed for representatives of Muslim minorities were the categories of the competition.

The preliminary stage of the contest was held on October 3 with the supervision of Quran experts such as Sheikh Abdullah ibn Ahmad Al-Faqih, Walid ibn Hazam Al-Utaibi and Abdullah ibn Ataullah Al-Hussaini.

The final stage was held at Al-Masjid an-Nabawi (the Prophet’s Mosque).
