TEHRAN (IQNA) – A Taiwanese envoy in Jordan recited some verses of the Holy Quran while talking with Radio al-Balad.

Taiwanese envoy Ismail Ma

Ismail Ma, head of the economic and cultural office of Taiwan in Amman, held this interview, speaking in fluent Arabic language, according to Al-Quds al-Arabi.

A Muslim, Ma has committed the 30th Juze (Part) of the Holy Quran to the memory and recited Surah Al-Falaq during the program.

He also narrated the story of one of his visits to al-Aqsa Mosque in the occupied al-Quds.

Ma said Zionist soldiers did not believe that he was a Muslim and took a religious test to allow him to enter the place.

Soldiers had asked him to recite Surah Al-Fatihah and to say the number surahs in the Quran. After answering them correctly, soldiers let him in.

Answering a question about Taiwan's position on the Palestinian issue, Ma said that Taiwan calls for peace in all countries of the world and demands an end to human rights violations in all parts of the world regardless of their religion, and calls on the international community to find a comprehensive solution and both sides to abide by and respect United Nations resolutions.

He also highlighted Taiwan's respect for the Muslim minority, although Muslims constitute less than 1% of the population. Muslims enjoy all their political, economic, social, and religious rights, as many members of the Taiwan Muslim minority occupy important positions, he claimed.
