TEHRAN (IQNA) – Being committed to the teachings of the Quran and Etrat of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) helps Muslims remain on the right path and prevents them from going astray, a cleric said,

Clerics from different Islamic schools of thought attend congregational prayers in Mecca

Hojat-ol-Islam Ramezani made the remark in a webinar titled “Islamic Unity in Light of Quran and Etrat”.

The online seminar was organized on Sunday in Mecca by the international deputy of the office of the Islamic Revolution Leader’s Representative in Hajj.

Hojat-ol-Islam Ramezani added that realization of Islamic unity is one of the outcomes of resorting to the Thaqalayn (Quran and Etrat).

He said one of the issues on which Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) laid great emphasis was unity in the Muslim world and they played a significant role in preventing discord and disunity among Muslims.

The cleric also said the contemporary wars, Fitnas (seditions) and conflicts, are caused by the arrogant powers and Zionists, who are regrettably accompanied by some in the Muslim world.

Another speaker at the webinar, Hojat-ol-Islam Mirzaei, highlighted the link between Muslm unity and Tawheed (monotheism).

He said unity is among prerequisites for Tawheed because Muslims cannot believe in Tawheed and at the same time be plagued with discord and disunity.

He added that all Muslims who have gathered in Mecca to perform Hajj are there in light of unity.

Even the fact that all Hajj pilgrims wear the same attire signifies that they are one and attests to the fact that Hajj is about unity, he stated.

Sheikh Saad Hamoudah from Tunisia in his address described unity as one of the most important issues mentioned in the Holy Quran and emphasized by the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and Infallible Imams (AS).

He said unity is the basis for Muslims’ power and discord and disputes lead to failure and defeat.

Thinker and scholar Imad al-Hamrouni, also from Tunisia, said Hajj is among the major symbols of Islamic unity as Muslims from different schools of thought gather in Mecca and perform the same rituals.

One million Muslims attended the Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca this year after two years of restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The office of the Islamic Revolution Leader’s Representative in Hajj organized a number of in-person and online seminars during the Hajj on different subjects such as Islamic unity, Palestine, and pilgrimage to Mecca with the participation of pilgrims from different countries.
