Palestinian Lawyer Highlights Plight of Children in Gaza amid Israeli Attacks
Speaking to IQNA, Salah Abulati, the president of the International Organization for Defending the Palestinian Nation’s Rights (Hashd) deplored the Zionist regime’s recurrent violations of Palestinian children’s rights, particularly during the ongoing war on the Gaza Strip.
He said while the international community is observing the World’s Children Day (on November 20), the Israeli genocide in Gaza and its crimes against Palestinian children continue.
Children are being killed in Gaza as a result of Israeli bombings and also due to hunger, thirst and diseases, he said, adding that Palestinian kids in the West Bank and the holy city of al-Quds are also killed, arrested, and tortured by Zionist forces.
Abdulati said the Israeli attacks on Gaza have so far killed 13,300 people, including 5,500 children and 3,500 women, and injured more than 30,000 others, most of whom are women and children.
Moreover, some 6,000 people have remained under the debris after Israeli airstrikes, half of whom are children and teenagers, he noted, stressing that one million children in Gaza are now living in tragic conditions as a result of the Israeli attacks.
Due to the Zionist regime’s blockade of Gaza, children there are suffering from lack of food, water, and medicine and the regime’s continuous acts of terrorism have exposed the kids to various diseases, he stated.

The Palestinian lawyer referred to the lack of health and medical services in the coastal enclave, noting that most of Gaza’s hospitals and medical clinics have been rendered out of service.
While the Zionist regime has always kept committing crimes against Palestinians throughout the history of its occupation of Palestine, during the war on Gaza it has escalated it heinous atrocities against children, he deplored.
The president of the International Organization for Defending the Palestinian Nation’s Rights called on the international community to take measures to stop the Israeli aggression on Gaza, support the Palestinian children and bring the Zionist regime’s officials to justice for their crimes against Palestinian kids.
He said the world community must break its silence and intervene immediately and seriously to end the Zionists’ carnage in Gaza.
He also called on the Palestinian Authority to pressure the International Criminal Court to take measures and force the Israeli regime to abide by international laws.

The United Nations and other international and regional organizations must also fulfil their responsibilities regarding the situation in Gaza, he said, urging them to add the Tel Aviv regime to the list of the regimes that violate children’s rights.
He also called for the opening of humanitarian corridors to provide aid to civilians, especially children in the Gaza Strip.
