Sayed Ahmed Qassim, who teaches geography at the University of Asyut, said his grandmother gifted the copy to him some 50 years ago.
She had inherited it from her father, he said, according to Al-Watan daily.
Each page of the copy measures only three centimeters in length.
Ahmed says the date of publication is printed on the cover of the copy.
It was printed in Turkey during the Ottoman period, he says, noting that the copy is kept in a small case.
A magnifying glass is needed to read the verses because the words are very small.
