Pakistan’s Quranic Institute Attends Tehran Int’l Book Fair
According to the website of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, Hojat-ol-Islam Yusuf Jamali, representative of the institute in Iran said it is the first time that the institute participates at the exhibition.
He added that the institute started its activities 8 years ago in Lahore and has 12 Quranic centers todays.
“It has organized Quran teacher training courses and succeeded to train 2000 Quran teachers in the city”, he added.
Translation of the Holy Quran and Quranic concepts is also among the activities of the institute. It has translated a book titled “Translation and concepts of the Holy Quran” by Hameed Saffar Harandi and Abulfadhl Allami into Urdu language which is used as a course book in Kashmir University and seminaries.
He added that the institute has translated the book into French, Azeri and Bengali and that it plans to provide an English translation of the Quranic work in the near future.
The institute has also published Quranic books for children which are taught at private schools of the region.
Among the activities of the institute is the organization of book-reading contests every four months on various Quranic themes.
It is cooperating with Al-Mustafa International University and holds Persian languages courses in Azeri, Urdu and Persian languages.
Courses on French and Malay languages have been planned to be organized by the institute, he added.
The Pakistani representative noted that the objective of the institute is to disseminate the Islamic culture, introduce Shia thought and develop Islamic virtues in the society.
