He said decision to this effect was taken during a recent a meeting chaired by Minister for Religious Affairs Muhammad Yousaf and representatives from Pakistan Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (PCSIR).
It was decided to establish the recycling plant in view of a host of complaints received by the ministry about disrespect to pages of the Holy Quran.
Several complainants proposed to step up a recycling plant for the disposal of worn-out and damaged pages of the holy book.
He said that the PC-I of the project is in process and it was being prepared with the help of the PCSIR.
After the establishment of the plant, special boxes would be installed in various areas of Islamabad, asking the citizen to drop the holy pages there, he said.
