In his written address to the 32nd National Prayer Conference, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei described the event as “one of the most beneficial assemblies in the country” and “one of the most blessed days of the year” due to its focus on a central act of worship.
The National Prayer Conference is held each year to promote prayer among different sectors of society, particularly youth.
“Prayer, when performed with humility and devotion to the Creator, brings peace to the heart, strengthens the will, deepens faith, and revives hope,” Ayatollah Khamenei wrote. “A person’s fate in this world and the hereafter depends on such a heart, such will, such faith, and such hope.”
He noted that the call to prayer (adhan) declares it “better than all other deeds,” highlighting the importance given to prayer in the Quran and Islamic teachings.

Ayatollah Khamenei also urged parents, teachers, and social institutions to play an active role in encouraging prayer, adding that religious organizations and clerics should view this responsibility as a “definite duty.”
He further called for the use of modern tools and incentives “to teach, promote, and explain the deep meanings of prayer and the worldly and spiritual needs it fulfills for every Muslim.”
