They will provide Quran teaching services to passengers on the occasion of Wilayat and Imamate Ten-Day Celebrations held between Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Ghadir.

Seyed Mohammad Naqib, head of Tehran Municipality’s Cultural and Social Affairs Department, said the measure has been taken in cooperation with the Ansar Al-Quran Charity Institute.

Top Quran teachers will be present in the booth to offer Quranic lessons in a number of subway stations in the capital, he added.

Eid al-Adha is one of the most important Islamic festivals held after the Hajj, the annual pilgrimage to Mecca.

Also known as the sacrifice feast, it is celebrated to honor the dedication and willingness of Prophet Abraham (AS) to sacrifice his son as an act of submission on God’s command.

This year it is celebrated on Sunday, July 10, in Iran.

The event of Ghadir, or Eid al-Ghadir, is celebrated by Shia Muslims around the world every year. It is among important feasts and happy holidays of Shia Muslims held on the 18th day of Dhul Hijja in the lunar Hijri calendar.

It was the day when according to reports, the Holy Prophet (PBUH) appointed Ali ibn Abi Talib (AS) as his caliph and the Imam after himself following an order from God. This year’s Eid al-Ghadir will fall on next Monday.
