IQNA – An Iranian religious scholar has drawn a comparison between the 1979 Islamic Revolution and the recent riots in Iran, highlighting the stark differences between the two.

The 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran ended the monarchy.

In an article provided to IQNA, Mohammad Fanaei Eshkevari said the Islamic Revolution began with the inspiration and guidance of the Quran but during the recent riots, Qurans were burned and desecrated.

The article is as follows:

A Comparison of the People's Revolution of 1979 with Terroristic and Madcap Insurrections of 2025

Although this comparison is an inappropriate analogy, since the enemy's media army calls this rioting a "revolution," it inevitably must be measured against a true and authentic revolution to reveal its nature.

The Islamic Revolution was the uprising of the Iranian nation with the presence of waves of millions of aware people.

The turmoil of the rabble was an insurrection by a bunch of deceived rioters and a minority from a few terrorist groups.

The Islamic Revolution was a struggle against dictatorship to establish democracy.

The turmoil of the rabble was a struggle against democracy to return to dictatorship.

In the Islamic Revolution, all superpowers supported the corrupt and puppet Pahlavi regime and stood against the people.

In the riot of the rabble, arrogance and Zionism fully supported the rabble with money, weapons, media, and promises of military attack.

The only revolutionary media in the Islamic Revolution was the handwritten declarations of Imam Khomeini, which were distributed among the people with difficulty, secretly and through underground printing.

In the riot of the rabble, hundreds of satellite radio-TV networks, sites, and cyberspace are busy around the clock inciting and encouraging insurrection and teaching crime and terror.

The Islamic Revolution began with mosque-building and from mosques and in mosques, in the name of God and worship.

The riot of the rabble began its work by burning mosques and setting fire to the House of God.

The Islamic Revolution gained strength in Hussainiyas and through mourning for the Master of Martyrs (AS).

The riot of the rabble started by setting Hussainiyas on fire and destroying and desecrating Imamzadehs (shrines of descendants of Imams).

The Islamic Revolution began with the inspiration and guidance of the Quran and moved on the orbit of divine teachings.

But the riot of the rabble took action by burning Qurans and desecrating the Word of God and the satanic suggestions of arrogant aggressors. There, they turned to the Quran, and here, they turned their backs on it and fought against it.

In the Islamic Revolution, the people chanted uniformly and peacefully against dictatorship. The Imam never gave an order for armed jihad, and the people's movement was devoid of violence.

In the riot of the rabble, like ISIS, they attacked people with cleavers, knives, axes, machetes, and grenades, burned people's property and lives with gasoline, and carried out the most savage child-killings.

In the Islamic Revolution, the vile Pahlavi regime used the utmost violence and rained bullets on the people with tanks, cannons, and machine guns.

In the riot of the rabble, the law enforcement forces of the Islamic Republic initially entered the scene unarmed and for dialogue to calm the situation.

In the Islamic Revolution, the people gave flowers to the military and called them brothers.

In the riot of the rabble, the ISIS-like individuals attacked the unarmed law enforcement like hyenas, beheaded them, tore bodies with cleavers and knives, and burned mutilated bodies in the fire of malice.

The Islamic Revolution relied on religion and was for the revival of religion.

The riot of the rabble was for fighting and negating religion.

In the Islamic Revolution, there was one nation with one leader.

In the riot of the rabble, there were tens of groups with tens of claimants to leadership.

The Islamic Revolution was accompanied by the leadership of a divine personality, a scholar, and a mystic.

In the riot of the rabble, the leaders are corrupt, gamblers, debauched, illiterate, tools, and puppets of colonial powers and intelligence services.

In the Islamic Revolution, at the forefront of demonstrations were scholars and scientists.

In the riot of the rabble, the leaders were shouting hooligans, thugs, knife-wielders, ruffians, rabble, and prostitutes.

The Islamic Revolution was a movement for God; the revolutionaries did not take money from anywhere but spent from their own lives and property.

In the riot of the rabble, the terrorists received a wage from foreign masters for every crime; and the highest rate was for killing a human.

The Islamic Revolution was to establish freedom, independence, justice, and humanity.

The riot of the rabble was against freedom, independence, and humanity, with the help and leadership of the enemies of justice, occupiers, and genocidal colonialists and war criminals.

The slogan of the Islamic Revolution was "Independence," and for every span of Iran's soil, the blood of the best children was shed.

But the goal of the rioting rabble was servitude to foreigners and delivering the country to enemies. The pioneers of the insurrection were separatist terrorists who, if they had won, nothing but a name would have remained of Iran in history.

In the Islamic Revolution, the people uniformly wanted the government of the justice of Ali (AS).

In the riot of the rabble, some wanted a return to the expired royal dictatorship, some wanted disintegrated communism, and some wanted the disintegration of the country.

In the Islamic Revolution, women came to the field with purity, hijab, and chastity, and that too out of insight, knowledge, and conscious choice.

In the riot of the rabble, women came to the field for the freedom of nudity and debauchery. Their highest wish in life was to become naked and have sexual freedom, and their highest honor and courage was to strip naked among the crowd and in front of global cameras.

The Islamic Revolution was for the progress and pride of Iran.

The riot of the rabble was for the destruction of Iran. They targeted Iran's economy and set fire to the property of the government and the nation and economic infrastructure. They burned forests and turned cultural heritage and ancient artifacts into ashes in the flames of their own ignorance and malice.

What happened in '57 (1979) was an authentic and popular revolution.

And what happened in 1404 (2026) was an insurrection by a bunch of terrorist, brainless, and traitorous rabble.

This is not a revolution; it is an insurrection of the people of falsehood against truth.

It is not patriotism; it is treason.

It is not justice-seeking; it is tyrannical.

It is not independence-seeking; it is dependence and the collapse of the country and civilization of Iran.

It is not freedom-seeking; it is dictatorship-seeking.

It is not for the people; it is against the people.

It is not for the growth of Iranian culture; it is against Iranian culture.

It is not culture-building; it is culture-burning. They burned libraries and schools like the Mongols.

It is not moral; it is immoral and anti-humanity.

The Islamic Revolution was on the orbit of honesty and truth.

The riot of the rabble is on the orbit of lies and falsehood. They proceed with fabrication. They ignore the millions-strong population supporting the system and, with fake images, show their own small crowd as multiplied. They even appropriate the people's martyrs. Since all vices must be gathered in this satanic movement, they cannot pass over lies and distortion either.

They have gathered malice and stupidity in one place.

Their stupidity is such that they do not understand that this kind of brutal methods leads nowhere. Will the people support the turmoil and savagery of ISIS? The people see these crimes and realize the evil intentions of these murderous criminals. They revealed their real face; they introduced their nature as it is. The system could never have portrayed them like this. It became clear that their issue is not democracy, human rights, freedom, and prosperity. All the slogans of these people and the propaganda trumpets of their masters for four decades were lies and deception.

The reality and essence of these people is cleaver-wielding, arson, beheading, and mutilation. This is their nature. They are willing for millions of humans to be killed, the country to burn and disintegrate, so that they may sit on the seat of power—even at the cost of a small, poor country.

With the passionate presence of the insightful and truth-seeking people, the enemies have temporarily retreated. But this retreat is temporary. America and Israel and their followers will not give up and will not tolerate a great and strong Iran. We must become stronger day by day. Our intelligence, law enforcement, and military apparatuses must become much more vigilant and powerful than before and not be caught off guard like before each time, and our economy must become more stable and our people more aware.

They will never cease hostility against the Iranian nation because these insurrections have no cost for their leaders. They rest comfortably under the shelter of their masters; they are not arrested, they pay no cost, and they continue their revelry with the plundered wealth of the Iranian nation. Their wretched, unfortunate, and deceived mercenaries inside execute their plans; these deceived wretches are either killed in armed conflict or executed and imprisoned for murder and terrorism. But the likes of Reza Pahlavi suffer no harm or loss. For them, the stone is free, and the sparrow is free. If they give even a one in a thousand probability of victory, they take action, even if millions of their opponents and supporters are killed. The dream of power and throne and reviewing troops tempts them terribly.

The grandfather of this wretch was brought to power by the British. The Americans brought back his father in the coup of 28 Mordad (1953) with the turmoil of ruffians and rabble, and they want to bring him back to the throne with the same method. The foreign supporters of this rabble are the same ones who brought Reza Khan and Mohammad Reza; the methods are the same, and the mercenaries are from the same stock.

But there is one big difference:

This side has changed a lot.

Against them is a vigilant and courageous leader, an aware and present nation, and zealous and powerful armed forces, which did not exist at that time.

Of course, this does not mean the country is immune and the threat is removed. The enemy has also become stronger. Therefore, we must preserve and strengthen these components of power.

Has the Islamic Revolution achieved all its goals and does the Iranian nation have no problems and is the current situation desirable?

Never. But the Islamic Revolution is not over and is in progress. It has achieved some of its goals, but some of its goals have not been realized due to the enmity and interference of enemies and the negligence and inefficiency of some incompetent and possibly infiltrated agents and officials.

Another revolution is not needed. The revolution has happened. A glorious, unique, and honor-creating revolution has happened. It is not necessary for you to toil and make another revolution, which is neither possible nor desirable. Violence, bloodshed, and destruction have no logic and do not help the country at all. Let us come together, alongside each other, and hand in hand make our homeland prosperous. What we need today is the continuation of this revolution and jihad and effort to realize the ideals of the revolution and solve its problems in various cultural, economic, scientific, and industrial dimensions, and especially the realization of justice and the rule of law. True patriots are those who are in constant jihad to realize these ideals, and the sleepers and the negligent must arise from their slumber and negligence as soon as possible and perform their mission in this direction.

To realize these ideals, we have two duties:

First, jihadi participation in the construction of the country and solving problems and filling voids.

Second, criticizing inefficiencies and protesting violations and shouting against corruption and injustices within a rational, ethical, and legal framework.
