Members of the group identifying themselves as "Danish patriots" burned multiple copies of the Quran in front of the embassies of Pakistan, Algeria, Indonesia, and Morocco. They also set fire to another copy near a mosque in Copenhagen.
These individuals, holding anti-Islamic signs and shouting derogatory slogans against Islam, shared videos of their Quran-burning acts on social media platforms. These provocative actions were conducted with the presence of the police, and certain videos of the incidents were later restricted by Facebook due to their content.
Previously, under heightened police security, the same Danish group had carried out similar acts in front of the embassies of five Muslim-majority countries: Iran, Turkey, Iraq, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia in Copenhagen. The group has declared its intention to persist with such actions across the country.
The desecration of the Quran in both Sweden and Denmark has sparked significant outrage, leading numerous Muslim nations to demand sanctions against these countries and the implementation of laws prohibiting the disrespect of holy scriptures. Such acts of violence against sacred texts are widely seen as breaches of international law.
