One of these attributes is conscience. Conscience helps one to distinguish good from evil and if he started to take the wrong path, conscience admonishes him and helps him to return to the right path.
An educational method that has a good effect on people and helps them rectify their path is awakening people’s conscience. In this method, people are reminded of what their essence is and why they have come to this world.
When one is reminded of these truths, he is likely to start regretting his negligence and wrongdoings and begin rectifying his path.
In this method, the educator tries to remind people of the truths of their existence and what achievements they can make on the path to perfection so that their conscience is awakened.
God, the Almighty, has used this method in the Holy Quran. There are a large number of verses in the Holy Book that remind us of how weak and needy we are before God and of what we are and what the purpose of our creation is.
Prophet Noah (AS) has also used this method to guide his people.
In the Surah named after Noah, we read that he frequently reminds people of the blessings that God has granted them so as to awaken their conscience. The people, however, remained in denial.

“(Noah said:) What is the matter with you that you do not want the Greatness of Allah? He has created you by stages! Have you not seen how Allah created the seven heavens one above the other, setting in them the moon as a light and the sun as a lantern? : Allah has caused you to grow out of the earth, and to it He will return you. Then, He will bring you forth. Allah has made the earth spread out for you so that you walk in its spacious paths.” (Verses 13-20 of Surah Nuh)
Prophet Noah (AS) first admonishes his people with a sentence “What is the matter with you that you do not want the Greatness of Allah?” and then refers to some of the divine blessings so that people would realize their weakness and needfulness.
All of these references were meant to awaken their conscience and guide them to the right path. However, most of them rejected the truth and received divine punishment.
