The Mashhad University of Medical Sciences is hosting the event, which will run until June 5.
Mehdi Kazemi, a cultural official at the university, told IQNA that the contenders are medical university students, professors and staff as well as the personnel of the Health Ministry and affiliated organizations and centers.
He said they are competing in three sections in various categories.
Javad Baqeri Bilandi, head of the Health Ministry’s Quran and Etrat Center, also spoke to IQNA about the competition, noting the Mashhad is hosting the final round of the event.
He put the number of the contestants in the first round, which was held in November 2023 at more than 90,000.

He noted that the semifinal stage was held in April and those who had the best performance made it to the finals.
According to Baqeri Bilandi, a number of top Quran experts of the country are serving in the competition’s panel of judges.
