In an article, Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Mostafa Hosseini highlighted different aspects of the Quranic character of Haniyeh, who was assassinated in an attack on his residence in Tehran last month.
He said in his article that acquaintance with the Holy Quran is common among all martyrs of resistance.
Citing a Hadiths from the Holy Prophet, “The nobles of my Ummah are those that carry the Quran in their hearts, and they are the people of the night,” Hojat-ol-Islam Hosseini said Haniyeh was an example of these people.
He was a person who carried the Quran and he was a person who stayed awake at night reciting the Quran, as he did on the last day of his life, the cleric stated.
He further referred to remarks by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei in March who said the steadfastness of the people of the Gaza Strip against the Zionist regime is the result of understanding and acting upon the Quran, and stressed that the spirit of resistance in Gaza, Lebanon and elsewhere in the region originates from acquaintance with the Holy Book.
Hojat-ol-Islam Hosseini further highlighted the massive presence of Iranian people in the funeral held for Haniyeh in Tehran and said it demonstrated Muslim unity based on the Holy Quran.
