Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Hassan Zamani made the remark in an address to a virtual seminar titled “From Ashura to Arbaeen: The End of Zionism, the Quran’s Promise of the Oppressors’ Downfall," held on August 18.
The prominent Islamic scholar invoked verses from the Quran to underline that divine justice ensures the eventual downfall of falsehood and oppressors, including the Zionist regime.
He said that in Verses 24-26 of Surah Ibrahim, God Almighty likens truth to a pure, rooted, steadfast, and always fruitful tree. “In contrast, falsehood is like a rootless tree that falls with a slight wind and has no stability.”
He also cited Surah Al-Isra (Verse 80), which states: “Say, ‘Truth has come, and falsehood has perished. Indeed, falsehood is bound to perish.’”
The Quran makes it clear that falsehood is transient, no matter how powerful it appears,” Hojat-ol-Islam Zamani stated. “History has shown us glimpses of this divine promise being fulfilled.”
The scholar argued that divine retribution is not confined to the afterlife. Quoting Verse 43 of Surah Fatir, he noted that oppressors often fall victim to their own schemes in this world: “Evil plots only engulf those who make them.”
He said, “Today, we see many unjust powers collapsing under the weight of their own corruption.”
The scholar also highlighted Verse 52 of Surah At-Tawbah, which presents believers with two hopeful outcomes: either martyrdom in God’s path or victory over their enemies. “True believers are never losers,” he said. “Either they achieve eternal honor through martyrdom, or they triumph over their foes. Sometimes, divine intervention ensures their success."
He further cited Quranic verses criticizing historical transgressions by Bani Isra’il, including their defiance of prophets such as Moses (AS), Jesus (AS), and Muhammad (PBUH).

He differentiated between ordinary Jews and the Zionist regime, acknowledging that many Jews today oppose Zionist crimes.
Quoting Verse 4 of Surah Al-Isra, Zamani noted a divine warning about Bani Isra’il spreading corruption twice on Earth. He also referenced Verses 111-112 of Surah Al-Imran, which predict humiliation for those who reject God’s signs and persecute believers.
“This fate is sealed by their disbelief and crimes, including the killing of prophets,” he said, adding, “Even their expulsion of believers from their lands—as we see in Palestine today” will only lead to a short-lived occupation.
