IQNA – Iran’s Quranic community says the patience and endurance of the people of Gaza against Israeli hostilities are rooted in Quranic teachings.

Gaza has become a symbol of Islam due to its deep-rooted faith in the Quran and its steadfast adherence to its teachings in the face of adversity, the community announced in a statement on Friday

“The Quran has equipped the people of Gaza with patience, unity, endurance, hope, and good tidings,” it added.

The statement was read in a ceremony in Tehran’s Mosalla, which was held to commemorate the late Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh, who was assassinated in an Israeli attack late last month.

The community opened the statement with quoting verses 171 and 172 of Surah As-Saffat, which reads: “Certainly Our decree has gone beforehand in favour of Our servants, the apostles, that they will indeed receive [Allah’s] help.”

It slammed the brutal Israeli attacks against defenseless Palestinian women and children, noting that the aggression on Gaza shows the “evil face” of the Israeli regime.

“Martyr Ismail Haniyeh, a martyr of the Quran, inspired a generation through Quranic teachings,” it said.

Haniyeh humiliated enemies and spread the life-giving and human-building message of the Quran to the world, making its honorable verses resonate once again, said the statement, quoting, “Say, ‘Do you not await one of the two excellent things to happen to us? But we await that Allah shall visit on you a punishment, from Him, or by our hands. So wait! We too are waiting along with you.’” (Surah At-Tawba, verse 52)

“What has most terrified the enemy is the global awakening of the people, the growing strength of resistance, the spread of interest in the Quran and Islam, the strengthening of Muslim unity, and the failure of the enemy's costly efforts to promote Islamophobia, division, secularism, and submission to their control,” it added.
