The closing ceremony was held Thursday morning in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad.
Iranian qari Mehdi Shayegh bagged the top prize in the recitation category, while Hani Sahib Zaman from the host country and Mohamed Ahmed Fathullah from Egypt came second and third respectively.
In the category of memorization of the entire Quran, the panel of judges announced Mohamed Sami Subhi Mutawalli from Palestine as the winner of the top prize.
The runner-up was Imad Mustafa Hassan from Libya and the third-rank prize went to Ahmed Jarallah Abdul Rahman from Iraq.
Iranian memorizer Ali Gholamazad came in fourth in this category.
Speaking at the ceremony, head of the organizing committee Ali Razuqi al-Lami noted that the competition was held for six days with support from Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani.

He added that Quran reciters and memorizers from over 30 Arab and Islamic countries took part in the contest.
Prominent Egyptian qari Ahmed Ahmed Nuaina also addressed the ceremony, hailing the good organization of the contest.
The final stage of the Iraq’s inaugural International Quran Award was held on Tuesday in Baghdad.
According to organizers, the competition aimed to celebrate Iraq’s rich Quranic heritage and to inspire the recitation and memorization of the Quran.
The competition was held under the theme, “From Baghdad, the symbol of civilization and Islam, to Gaza, the symbol of resistance, and Lebanon, the symbol of jihad; with the Quran, we achieve victory and resilience.”
