The international competition, which began on November 9 and will conclude on November 14 with the closing ceremony, marks the country’s first government-sponsored event of its kind.

According to organizers, the competition aims to celebrate Iraq’s rich Quranic heritage and to inspire the recitation and memorization of the Quran.

This year's event features both memorization and recitation categories, each evaluated by distinct judging standards, with 31 Quran memorizers and reciters from various Arab and Islamic nations participating.

The competition consists of two stages: an initial round open to all participants, followed by a final round in which the top five contestants are selected.

The competition is held under the theme, “From Baghdad, the symbol of civilization and Islam, to Gaza, the symbol of resistance, and Lebanon, the symbol of jihad; with the Quran, we achieve victory and resilience.”
