The additions were officially opened by Prince Salman bin Sultan, governor of Medina, alongside Mohammad Al-Issa, secretary-general of the Muslim World League and supervisor-general of the museum, Arab News reported on Tuesday.
According to organizers, the new pavilion presents a documented account of Medina during the time of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The exhibition is divided into more than 20 sections, highlighting key religious, social, and cultural landmarks of the period.
Among the displays are a panoramic representation of the Prophet’s Chamber and interactive features depicting the development of the Prophet’s Mosque, a tent illustrating aspects of Prophetic medicine, and visualizations of the Prophet’s daily practices.

The museum also introduced Ithaf, a new interactive digital platform. Visitors can access virtual tours, as well as a multilingual digital library containing more than 350 books and encyclopedias focused on the Quran and the traditions of the Prophet (PBUH). The platform is designed to make the material accessible to an international audience.
The new addition to the museum comes as millions of pilgrims are set to travel to Saudi Arabia for Hajj pilgrimage next month. Pilgrims usually have a week-long stay in Medina.
