Egypt Awqaf Ministry Launches Mosques’ Summer Plan

IQNA – The spokesperson for Egypt’s Awqaf ministry of announced the launch of the mosques’ summer plan for children in the country.

Osama Raslan said that according to the plan, the ministry has set a goal to enroll one million children in Quran memorization and religious education courses throughout the summer.

He said the ministry aims to engage one million Egyptian children in mosques for memorizing the Holy Book and learning religious teachings this summer.

Speaking to Egypt’s Nile News satellite channel, he added that the implementation of the mosques’ summer Quran plan began on May 5 and will continue until September 30.

He said all mosques across the country, numbering around 22,000, will host the programs.

They are organized every Monday and Wednesday after the afternoon prayers, he noted.

Religious lessons, Quran memorization programs, Quranic concepts, and explanations of Hadiths are offered as part of summer programs, through which religious and national values, as well as love for others, will be strengthened in the new generation, he stated.
