The department said in a statement that the annual special health and medical planning for the Ashura mourning ceremonies has been completed, and provincial authorities have mobilized all their efforts to provide medical and health services and meet the needs of participants in these events.
According to the statement, healthcare institutions covered by this program will be managed through the Health Department’s operations room, in coordination with the Ministry of Health, provincial authorities, service organizations, and the Astans (custodianships) of the holy shrines of Imam Hussein (AS) and Hazrat Abbas (AS), as well as the health departments of neighboring provinces.
Within the framework of this program, 101 ambulances equipped with essential medicines and supplies will be stationed in crowded areas, especially during the Tuwairij ceremony.
Additionally, 8 public hospitals and 4 private hospitals are provided to the health department to accept emergency patients. Moreover, medical bases will be established, and 55 health teams will be responsible for monitoring the drinking water and food provided to the pilgrims.
The statement went on to say that the primary priority of this program is to adopt preventive measures against contagious diseases.
Citizens, pilgrims, officials of the religious centers, and those serving the mourners have been requested to adhere to the health recommendations and guidelines announced by health authorities to maintain their health and that of others against infectious diseases.
