Israel after Disintegration of Syria, Eradication of Resistance Ideology: Analyst
Muammar Orabi, head of the Wattan Institute for Media Research and Future Studies, said in an interview with Al-Mayadeen Network that the Israeli regime has a strategic relationship with southern Syria, but this does not mean a general relationship, because the strategic dimension of this region is more important to Israel than any Arab government anywhere in the world.
He added that Israel is seeking to realize its dream of creating a “Greater Israel”.
In this way, the Zionist regime is trying to eradicate the ideology of resistance and replace it with normalizing relations with Israel, he stated.
Orabi added that the events of Sweida were written by Jewish orientalists such as Bernard Lewis and Adit Ben Nun. “They wrote that there would be a Druze state centered in Sweida, as well as a Kurdish state and an Alawite state, called the ‘Passage of David’. Thus, Israel is playing on sectarian tensions and the Syrian war with the aim of realizing the ‘Greater Israel’ project.”
Orabi stated that Israel has begun to destroy the capabilities of the Syrian army and the country itself in order to divide Syria. “This regime is the only one that benefits from this secessionist agenda.”
Regarding the claims about the US-Israeli conflict, the Arab expert said that one should not fall into the trap of the lie that there is a conflict between the US and Israel because the Americans plan and the Israelis execute.
He went on to say, “I remember the words of Martyr Sayed Hassan Nasrallah, who said 'If Syria is lost, Palestine is lost,' because Syria had previously resisted all the (anti-resistance) projects.”
He stressed that the Israeli plan is aimed at undermining any future Arab liberation project.
He said it is no coincidence that genocide is taking place in Gaza, there is war on Iran, Yemen, and Lebanon, and Syria is being weakened.
“This is because then there won’t be an axis of resistance in the region.”

Orabi emphasized that Israel has been using Arab organizations and militias to achieve its goals and interests, and has been using the new rulers of Syria and the militias in Gaza for some time.
He concluded by emphasizing that Israel wants to draw a map of the new Arab world consisting of small, sectarian, and warring states.
