Ali Montazeri made the remark during a visit by Fatemeh Mohajerani, the Iranian Administration’s spokeswoman, to the International Quran News Agency (IQNA) on Saturday.
He noted that the 7th edition of the International Quran Competition for Muslim Students, which is currently in its seventh year, includes works by Muslim students from all over the world.
He said the contest has started with a preliminary stage and the received works are being judged.
The presence of students from 45 countries in this event shows the importance and value of diplomacy using the Holy Quran and the role of students in promoting Quranic culture, he underlined.
The Iranian Academics’ Quranic Organization, affiliated to the ACECR, has organized the competition since 2006 with the aim of promoting unity and cooperation among Muslim world students and elevating the level of Quranic activities.
This year’s event comes following six successful editions of the competition, which hosted participants from over 85 countries and had a significant impact on Quranic and cultural engagement across the Islamic world.
The 6th edition took place in the holy city of Mashhad, northeast of Iran, in April 2018.
