Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Asef Hekmat, vice president for research at Al-Mustafa University’s branch in Afghanistan and secretary of the conference, made the announcement at a press conference on Tuesday.

Referring to the history of holding ceremonies commemorating Ayatollah Mesbah Yazdi (RA) in Afghanistan, he said, “Every year, we held programs to commemorate the scientific and spiritual status of Ayatollah Mesbah in the form of scientific meetings, but this year, this commemoration will be held in the form of a much broader conference and at a higher scientific level.”

He pointed to the widespread reception of the conference call, saying that 98 papers have been sent to the conference secretariat so far.

The papers are first evaluated, with weak ones being returned to the author for revision, he noted. “Accepted papers are then referred to two scientific reviewers, and if the average score is above 70, the paper is accepted. In cases where the difference in scores between the two reviewers is more than 20 points, the evaluation is performed by a third reviewer.”

The proposed date for holding this conference is Wednesday, October 1, he stated, adding, “Our effort is to hold this conference at a very grand and scientific level.”

He further pointed out the impact of Ayatollah Mesbah Yazdi’s (RA) ideas in Afghanistan and said, “Ayatollah Mesbah’s valuable service to the Islamic Ummah and especially to the country of Afghanistan has been the training of a generation of scholarly, specialized, and committed students. Today, there is a serious interest in his ideas among the scientific elite of Afghanistan, and his students have become the source of extensive scientific and cultural services in this country.”
