The course began in Najaf this week with the participation of representatives from five Islamic countries, Al-Kafeel reported.
It has been organized within the framework of the Quranic plan for religious sciences students for the year 1447 AH.
Sheikh Mahdi Qalandar al-Bayati, one of the instructors of the course, said the council has started the third course of preparing qaris based on Iraqi and Egyptian methods with the participation of 27 representatives from Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, Tanzania and Afghanistan.
“This course includes an intensive training program under the supervision of experts,” he noted.
Al-Bayati added, “The curriculum focuses on strengthening the participants’ vocal skills and developing their tonal abilities, along with practical training in advanced Quran recitation techniques, which will qualify them to present recitations in formal Quranic gatherings and programs.”

He explained that the course consists of two stages: the first is an introductory stage that familiarizes participants with the basic principles of recitation and performance standards, and the second is a specialized one that deepens their experience and increases their level of proficiency to prepare them to participate in Quranic programs in holy shrines, mosques and Husseiniyas (religious sites), as well as religious schools inside and outside Iraq.
