The words “Scots First” were discovered sprayed on the exterior wall of Glasgow Central Mosque on Adelphi Street. Officers believe the vandalism happened between 5 p.m. on Sunday and 9 a.m. on Monday.
Police Scotland said the act was “unacceptable” and confirmed that an investigation is under way. Chief Inspector Paul Daley said the incident was deeply upsetting for both local residents and the Muslim community, adding that officers were taking the matter “very seriously.”
“Such vile graffiti is completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated,” Daley said in a statement.
He urged anyone with information to contact police on 101, quoting reference 1222 of October 27, 2025, or to reach Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
