
Youssef Belmahdi made the announcement while speaking at the celebration of the 71st anniversary of the country’s revolution, held in the capital Algiers, elayem.news reported.
He said the course was held with the participation of 17 male and female judges and more than 70 trainees from among the imams and religious missionaries from different provinces.
Belmahdi also explained the qualitative developments in the field of training Quran competition judging as a result of the programs organized by the Virtual Recitation Institute and the Electronic Quran Recitation Center of Algeria.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he said Algerian scholars have carried an enlightening mission throughout history and played an important role in spreading knowledge and religious authority in Africa and Europe.
He said that before colonialism, Algeria was a cradle of knowledge and scholars who contributed to the enrichment of great centers such as Al-Zaytouna, Al-Azhar, and the institutions of Mecca, Medina, and the Levant.
