The society held a ceremony at its headquarters to launch the campaign, which was attended by a number of prominent scholars and reciters.
Mohamed el-Amin Ould Cheikhna, director of Islamic guidance at the Mauritanian Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Traditional Education, spoke at the ceremony about the urgent need for Quran copies in the country.
He highlighted the establishment of the Dar al-Musahf (House of the Quran), which plays a key role in reviewing and correcting copies of the Quran before issuing a license to distribute them.
He appreciated the role of the Mauritanian Holy Quran Society in providing high-quality copies of the Holy Quran in acceptable quantities, stressing that this has eliminated the shortage of Quran copies in the country.
Sheikh Sidi Abdelkader Atfail, head of the Mauritanian Dar al-Mushaf, in his speech pointed to the Dar al-Mushaf’s cooperation with the Mauritanian Holy Quran Society, and appreciated the role of this society in disseminating the Quran and supporting Quranic centers.
Sayyid al-Hajj, head of the Mauritanian Holy Quran Society, explained the activities of this society in the field of teaching and disseminating the Quran among different segments of society, the efforts to disseminate the Holy Quran and Quranic knowledge in various ways, and the revival of the role of mosques and Quranic centers to fulfill their duties in education, training, and guidance.

Al-Hajj emphasized that this is the second time that the society is distributing a large number of Qurans among institutions, with the first Quran distribution plan having been implemented in 2023.
