Cool Ihram Garments on Display at Hajj 2025 Exhibition
The “Ihram al-Abrad” or “Cool Ihram” has been introduced as a new innovation and a new competitive advantage for Saudia; a design that helps pilgrims perform the Hajj rituals in more comfortable physical conditions and at a lower temperature.
Abdullah Al-Shahrani, director of corporate communications at Saudia, announced that the company has successfully received an official patent for the “Cool Ihram”.
He added that this type of Ihram allows Hajj and Umrah pilgrims to reduce their body temperature as much as possible with a special cover and, as a result, perform the rituals with more comfort.
Al-Shahrani said that in addition to this innovation, Saudia also offers various other services to facilitate the pilgrims’ journey, including improving the accommodation and camps in Arafat based on new technologies, as well as the ‘Hajj without luggage’ service, which allows pilgrims to enter or exit the airport without carrying personal luggage.
He also announced that a plan to use a flying taxi to transport pilgrims from the airport to the holy cities is being examined.

According to Saudi media, the ‘Cool Ihram’ is the world’s first smart and advanced clothing designed to reduce body temperature during the Hajj and Umrah rituals.
