IQNA

One of Oldest Mosques in Iran

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The grand mosque in the village of Fahraj in central Iran is believed by some experts to be the oldest mosque in the country.

Built in the first half of the first Hijri century (7th century AD), the mosque has been registered on the national heritage list.

Fahraj, a village in the province of Yazd, is believed to have been uninterruptedly settled for at least 5000 years.
