‘Quran, Sunnah’ Contest Underway in Sharjah

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The final stage of the Quran and Sunnah national Quran competition began in Sharjah, the UAE, on Friday.

 

A total of 129 contenders have made it to the final round of the competition’s 21st edition, according to Sharjah24.ae.

It has been organized by the UAE’s Quran and Sunnah Institute.

The competition is being held in two sections: one for Quran memorizers whose Quranic skills are at elementary levels and the other for top Qaris and memorizers and prayer leaders of mosques.

For the first time, some of the participants in this year’s contest are those with disabilities.

Top winners of the contest will receive cash prizes totaling one million Emirati Dirhams.  

The annual Quran competition is aimed at helping to institutionalize Islamic and Quranic values among Emirati citizens.
