Winners of UAE Quran Contest for Women Awarded
TEHRAN (IQNA) – Winners of the women’s section of the 18th edition of Ras al-Khaimah national Quran contest in the UAE were honored at a ceremony on Tuesday.
According to the WAM news agency, the main hall of the Department of Culture, Youth and Community Development in Ras al-Khaimah hosted the event.
The preliminary stage of the competition’s women’s section was held in January with the participation of 787 individuals.
As many as 172 made it to the final round, which was held in February.
Addressing the ceremony, Rabia Ali Mansouri, a member of the organizing committee, underlined the department’s resolve to promote Quranic activities among women.
The Ras al-Khaimah national Quran competition is annually held by the department in cooperation with the city’s Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Department.
Ras Al Khaimah is the northernmost emirate of the United Arab Emirates.
