A Paris high court has issued a ruling against a Muslim Hjab-wearing woman who worked at the Baby Loup kindergarten.

The high court in a Wednesday ruling backed the kindergarten that fired the Muslim employee for wearing the Islamic headscarf, Ajib website reported.

The court had previously ruled in favor of the Muslim women but reversed its previous decision on Wednesday.

The kindergarten officials said they fired the woman to ensure that secular laws are observed as wearing Hijab is against the secular laws of the country.

The issue of Hijab has been a long-debated issue in France where the political officials have been moving to introduce more restrictions against Muslims.

France has around 6 million Muslims, making it the country with the largest Muslim population in Western Europe.
