According to Sabanet, in a speech delivered at the ceremony, deputy of Yemen’s minister of higher education and scientific research urged Quran memorizers to follow Quranic teachings.
Yemen’s Quran High School has had an important role in educating Quran memorizers and students with a mastery of Quranic sciences and culture, he added.
Dean of the high school, Abdul-Raghib Ebad was another speaker who said that the ceremony was held to encourage students at different levels to learn the Quran and persuade them to reach higher educational levels.
He also noted that 1700 male and female Quran memorizers have so far graduated from Quran High School in the city of Sana’a, as well as 3 branches of the school in Aden, Al-Mukha, and Say’un.
Another speaker was Ahmad Al-Falah, vice president of Kuwait’s “Al-Islah Al-Ijtimaee” (social reform) Society who stressed the importance of the Quranic students’ commitment to Quranic education and following Prophet Mohammad’s (PBUH) way of life based on the Quranic verse “The best people among you are those who learn the Quran and teach it to others”.
Various cultural and religious programs were also held on the sidelines including the performance of Yemen’s artistic group “Al-Ein”.
