Nigeria Quran Recitation Competition Postponed

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Nigeria’s national Quran recitation competition earlier slated for March 29 and April 1st has been postponed to June 9 and 13.

Chairman of the organizing committee, Professor Ja'afar Kaura, said the postponement was necessary in view of the general elections.

The competition is organized by the Centre for Islamic Affairs of the Usmanu Danfordiyo University, Sokoto.

Addressing newsmen, Kaura said the competition is aimed at encouraging Muslims to recite and memorize the holy Quran.
