IQNA – The 7th International Conference on the Seerah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in Medicine began in Iran’s southern city of Shiraz on Wednesday.

The 7th International Conference on the Seerah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in Medicine began in Iran’s southern city of Shiraz on November 19, 2025.

 

It was launched at a conference hall near the holy shrine of Ahmad ibn Musa (AS), known as Shah Cheragh (AS), with the participation of domestic and international scholars and researchers.

The conference is focusing on the use of artificial intelligence in medicine and sciences related to spiritual health and medical ethics.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Hojat-ol-Islam Ebrahim Kalantari, the Custodian of the Shah Cheragh (AS) mausoleum, referred to the importance of artificial intelligence in various sciences, including medicine, and considered this technology a turning point in scientific development.

He emphasized that in the future, machines will be able to analyze and infer, and this can create new challenges for humans.

He said artificial intelligence and all technologies are human creations, and humans themselves are God’s creations. “Therefore, we must always pay attention to the fact that everything in the world is in some way considered God’s creation.”

Mohammad Hadi Imanieh, the conference chairman, in his speech recalled the history of holding this event every two years since 2013.

He said scientific advances in the field of the human body have increased day by day, and today, genetics and its role in human health have gained special importance, but ethics and spirituality have received less attention in society.

He said the coference is trying to promote spiritual health and moral values ​​while also promoting science.

Imanieh also stated that using artificial intelligence, extensive databases related to the Quran and Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) can be analyzed and used in the field of mental health and spirituality.

Hojat-ol-Islam Abdolreza Mahmoudi, director of the conference, also addressed the ceremony, saying one of the main goals of the conference is to develop and make a scientific impact inspired by the Prophet’s (PBUH) Seerah.

“We hope that this event can explain transcendental medicine and ethical teachings in the country’s medical community.”

According to Mahmoud Nejabet, scientific secretary of the conference, out of a total of 150 papers submitted, 119 papers were accepted for poster presentation and the top five papers will be presented orally.

He added that the programs of this edition include 8 specialized sessions in the fields of history of medicine, Islamic medicine, medical ethics, behavioral sciences and religious studies, as well as three interdisciplinary workshops designed to improve research skills.

Nejabat also mentioned the presence of international researchers from Duke University in the United States and countries such as Greece and Lebanon, adding that these contributions demonstrate the extensive potential of the subject of the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) Seerah in entering new areas of health and medical ethics at the global level.
