Iran, Indonesia to Develop Quranic Ties

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Head of the Iranian cultural center in Indonesia held a meeting with the president of the Southeast Asian country’s Quran Memorizers and Reciters Society in Jakarta.


During the meeting, which was also attended by prominent Iranian Quran master Gholam Reza Shahmiveh, the two sides discussed expansion of cooperation between the two countries in the field of Quranic activities, the website of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) reported.

Iran, Indonesia to Develop Quranic Ties

Amir Rahimi, head of the cultural center, voiced Iran’s readiness to hold joint Quranic programs, including competitions, research activities, educational programs and Quranic exhibitions, with Indonesia.

The Indonesian side, for his part, hailed the Quranic cooperation between two countries, including an agreement between Iran’s Al-Mustafa International University and Indonesia’s Quran Memorizers and Reciters Society and another agreement for sending Iranian Quran masters to Indonesia.

Gholam Reza Shahmiveh has traveled to Indonesia at the invitation of its Quran Memorizers and Reciters Society to hold specialized Quranic courses in the world’s most populous Muslim country.
