Iranian Quran Master Teaching Specialized Course for Women in Karbala

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A specialized Quranic course for women has begun in the holy city of Karbala, Iraq.

Organized by the Dar-ol-Quran Center of the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Hussain (AS) holy shrine, it features lessons on Sawt (melodious voice) and Lahn (rhythm), Qafqn.org website reported.

Iranian Quran master Sana Manbouhi is the instructor of the course, according to Amal al-Matouri, head of the center’s women’s department.

Al-Matouri said the course is being held at the center in Karbala and will run for two weeks.

She added that it is aimed at enhancing the Quranic skills of female qaris and preparing them to attend in local, national and international Quran competitions.

Training the qaris to become experts in Sawt and Lahn so that they can teach the subjects in the future is another objective of the course, she went on to say.

Sana Manbouhi is a master in the field of Sawt and Lahn. She has served as a member of panel of judges in numerous national and international Quran contests.
