Iranian, Pakistani FMs Discuss Muslim World Affairs, Bilateral Ties

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian and his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mahmood Qureshi exchanged views about the developments in the Islamic world and the relations between the two Muslim countries.

In a telephone conversation on Monday, the two foreign ministers discussed the issue of Palestine as well as the situation in Yemen and Afghanistan and the crisis in Ukraine.

Qureshi underlined the importance of unity among Muslim countries, especially on the issue of Palestine and said Islamabad spares no efforts in supporting Palestine.

He also invited Iran’s top diplomat to attend an upcoming meeting of the foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

Amir Abdollahian thanked Qureshi for the invitation and congratulated the Pakistani government and nation on the country’s National Day.

He also stressed the significance of the the issue of Palestine and noted that it was the reason why the OIC was established in the first place.
