TEHRAN (IQNA) – A fire broke out in a mosque in Malaysia razing it in the wee hours on Wednesday.

The incident occurred in the town of Papar in the Southeast Asian country’s Sabah State.

The Fire and Rescue Department received the report at 3.38am, where firefighters were sent to Nurul Iman mosque at Sabindo there to put out the blaze.

However, no casualties were reported.

"The 40x80 feet mosque of semi-permanent structure, was 95% burnt down. The fire was under control by 4.26am, and the operation was completed by 07.17am," said a Fire and Rescue spokesperson.
