International Quran Contest in Germany Set for November

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Representatives from 30 countries are set to take part in an international Quran contest in Germany in November.

 

Organized by Al-Nour Waqf (endowment) organization, the contest will be staged on November 11-13 in Hamburg.

Danial Abedin, head of the organization and director of the contest, said that registration is open till October 30.

The competition aims to encourage Muslims to read and memorize the Quran and implement its teachings, he said.

Maintaining the religious identity, boosting people’s faith, and promoting Quranic values among the young generation are other objectives of the competition, according to Abedin.

The contest will be organized in different categories including memorization of the entire Quran (for under 30-year-olds), memorization of 15 Juzes (for under 25-year-olds), memorization of 10 Juzes (for under 18-year-olds), and memorization of 5 Juzes (for under 16 year-olds).
